Game 6 -- Ray-Pec

The Mustangs took finished the year against the Ray-Pec East Huskies.  The A team won 20-6 in a very windy game.  Because of the wind, the team only attempted 3 passes all night.  The B team fell 14-12...they were driving for a game winning TD before turning the ball over with less than a minute left.  The C team won 6-0 on a spectacular wheel route TD pass.

The Mustangs finished the season with a program record of 11-4-1.  A very successful season.  WE appreciate all the hard work the young men put into the season.  We encourage all of them to go out for football at Lee's Summit North.  If this class, continues to grow and do the things their coaches ask....North has a bright future!

OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Austin Alvidrez & Alex Davenport- Austin did a great job of running the ball.  He was aided by Alex Davenport and his bone jarring blocking on our 34 Counter play.  Great Job!

Guiliano Monetti III -  G had a really good game despite the outcome.  He rallied the B squad from a deficit all night and almost led a game winning TD drive.  Great job!!!

 DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Dakota Collins- Dakota was a force all night.  He carried the ball in crunch time but his impact on Defense was tremendous.  Dakota made the hit of the year on a Ray-Pec running back that really set the tone for the rest of the night!  Awesome job!

Jeremiah Ortiz- Jeremiah was hitting on all cylinders against Ray-Pec.  The insider LB did a great job of filling his gap responsibility against the Ray-Pec offense!  Great job, Jeremiah!

IMPACT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Gunner Gronberg & Spencer Zumallen - In what coaches called the play of the year, Gunner and Spencer hooked up on a 60 yard TD pass.  The best part is this play was never practiced by the C team.  Coach Boehm drew it up during a timeout.  Gunner never saw were Spencer was on the field...he just knew that Spencer was fast. What a memory!

Here is a little of the post-game celebration after victories over Ray-Pec!  We call it having a little party!

A special thanks to all the parents that have sent nice notes over the season.  Coaching is often a thankless endeavor...we appreciate your student athletes and want to wish them nothing but success in their future at North.  Your support at all the Home and AWAY games was tremendous.  We hear you every game and it feels good to have that support.
